Prague Tour Day

After a successful week of ministry the team is touring one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world. Prague is filled with amazing architecture, historic buildings and amazing scenery. Most of the architecture is in its original form and was fortunately spared from bombing during World War II unlike many of the great cities in Europe.

Our FBC team is pictured here on the Charles Bridge which crosses the Vltava River. Legend has it that Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV laid the first stone himself on July 9, 1357. The bridge is lined with 30 statues, most of them in the baroque style and its Old Town Bridge Tower is considered to be one of the greatest gothic style buildings in the world.

Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, File’ Gumbo

As we wrap up our last day of ministry in Prague, we couldn’t have ended things any better! After a morning of coffee/tea distribution, our final English Club was a big success, and we had a great group of around 20 local Czechs plus all the local Americans on the team here. We fed them some home cooking (red beans and rice, jambalaya, gumbo) and sang some great Cajun songs (Jambalaya, When the Saints Go Marching In, etc…). The night was a great success for the Pochoden Praha church! Our team has been blessed by the connections we’ve made with the people of Prague, and we look forward to seeing the sights of the city tomorrow and making our way home Saturday. Please pray for safety as we travel home, and we look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Prayer, Water & English

Day 4 was a great day! We began the day by taking the tram to the nearby community of Barrandov and prayer-walking the area around the home of our missionary host for the week, Brian McClure. Brian is planting seeds for a future church in the community and has made many inroads through the English Club program strategy where people are connected to the local church and both local Czech Christians as well as American missionaries. Our afternoon water distribution was our most successful yet, and we pray it will lead to new faces tomorrow night (Thursday) at our final English Club event in Repy, a western section of Prague. The attitude of the team continues to be great, and please make tomorrow a special day of prayer for us as we tackle a long day of ministry. Ciao from Prague!

The A-Team

Pray for this team as you go through your day. They are one of many teams sent out from First Baptist Church Covington that give their vacation time and financial resources to GO and SERVE to “the ends of the Earth.” Pray for Charles, Taryn, Jason, Jennifer and Denny. Also pray for the missionaries that serve in Prague full time. They serve faithfully and love what they do, but they miss their families, churches and country.
